Why are there polyurethane wheels for casters? Polyurethane is commonly
known as Youli Glue, Spring Glue, and the full name is polyurethane or
isocyanate polymer. Casting polyurethane is a kind of polyurethane
elastomer that is injected by chemical reaction, based on polyester
polyol, diisoester and ethylene glycol. Protect the floor, absorb
vibration, no trace, no staining, very abrasion-resistant, elastic and
resistant. It is an elastomer between plastic and rubber, and its
excellent comprehensive properties are not available in ordinary
plastics and rubbers.
1. Characteristics of polyurethane wheels The elastomer of polyurethane
wheels has good performances such as wear resistance, chemical
resistance, high strength, high elasticity, low pressure resistance,
strong shock absorption, tear resistance, radiation resistance, high
load-bearing capacity and shock absorption. Polyurethane wheels also
have a wide range of hardness, from Shore A10-100. There are already
products on the market that surpass Shaw A100 and above. In addition,
the polyurethane wheels have excellent sound absorption characteristics,
and the wheels do not produce noise during the movement, which can
achieve a mute effect. These characteristics of PU wheels are very
suitable as caster materials.
2. Polyurethane wheels can adopt a variety of processing methods
(1) Polyurethane wheels can be molded by injection, extrusion,
calendering, blow molding and other processes like ordinary plastics
(referring to CPU);
(2) Polyurethane wheel elastomers can also be molded by plasticizing,
mixing, and vulcanizing processes like general rubber (referring to
MPU);
(3) Polyurethane wheels can also be made into liquid rubber, which can
be molded by injection molding, spraying, potting, and centrifugal
molding (referring to CPU).

thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer manufactured by a casting-type
production process.
